The Belleair Beach Resort Condominium Association is a beachfront complex that was severely damaged by Hurricane “IRMA” in September of 2017. Given the scope and complexity of damages and large hurricane deductibles (5% of limits), the Board of Directors immediately decided to engage local Public Adjuster, Dante R. Fabbro with Fabbro & Company to assess the loss and work with the carrier to manage and settle the claim.
Immediately after being engaged, Fabbro & Company assisted the Association in securing a commercial roofing contractor to make substantial emergency roof repairs. Nearly 3/4 of the roof surface had been “peeled” back, exposing the interiors to catastrophic water damage if immediate action was not taken. Nature was on the Association’s side. Thought the extensive, temporary roof repair took nearly two weeks to complete, minimal rainfall occurred, sparing the interiors from major damage.
Within a month, Fabbro & Company completed its evaluation of the loss, presented it to the Board for review and approval, then submitted it to Lloyd’s of London for consideration.
The claim was ultimately settled for $415,000 after large 5% deductibles were applied.
