This condominium community located in Key West, Fl, consists of 2 buildings, each housing 13 units. In 2005, Hurricane “Wilma” caused major flood damage to both buildings. Having used a public adjuster in the past, the board of directions retained Dante Fabbro, P.C.L.A. to assess and negotiate the claim on their behalf.
Although the scope of flood damage to the first levels (6 units in each building), through aggressive negotiations with the NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program) adjuster, it was agreed that those units on the first level would need to be “gutted” due to water and mold damage. Within a few months, an amicable settlement on both buildings totaling $452,000 was reached.
